Krista Hughes

I have been practising yoga for 30 years, as a way of helping myself relax, unwind, de-stress and connect with the world, and also, of course, as a way to keep myself fit, flexible and in touch with my own self. I trained as a yoga teacher with YogaLondon, qualified in 2014,  and I am registered with Yoga Alliance. I love the Vinyasa Flow style, which incorporates elements from different yoga traditions, so that sequences of poses are linked together, using the breath, to create a fluid style that helps develop strength, flexibility and stamina. My classes are open to all, and are very relaxed and relaxing, so that participants are able to develop their own personal practice and sense of connection between mind, body and spirit.

One of the most wonderful things about Yoga is that we can all, at some level, ‘do it.’ Age, size, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion; all have no bearing on being able to learn to ‘still the body, still the mind and look to the Inner Self.’ And for me, that learning path, that journey, is what makes yoga so powerful and potentially transformational.

People come to yoga for many different things, whether it be for fitness, for the super Beach Body, for some Me Time, to maintain flexibility, to connect with the self within, to help find tools for relaxation, for the lovely endorphin rush that follows exercise, or for some because they are on a path seeking enlightenment. All of these are fine reasons to begin to practise Yoga. What all can find is a growing understanding of their own self, their body and mind, and maybe a developing understanding of what drives and motivates them, as they listen to the words of their own inner teacher. And all that is needed is a mat, a body, and a willingness to engage with the practice……Oh, and a class, and a passionate teacher is a great help!

Chilled Yoga classes are held Friday evenings, 6.15-7.30, at Oddfellows Hall, 45, Bridge Street, Leatherhead, Surrey, KT228BN

I also teach individual private classes, and lead Couples Classes. Please email me for further details.

In Love and Light,
